Your Mission

HOERBIGER Corporation of America (HCA) is an industry-leading manufacturer of high-tech, reciprocating compressor valves and components used across the energy industry.  Our plant in Pompano Beach, Florida employs 300 dedicated professionals.  Seeking candidates for two six-month, full-time Internships beginning in Spring 2025. 

 

Accepting students who reside/attend school in the Fort Lauderdale area for these paid internships (or recent graduate from a Florida university).  Prefer students in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or Supply Chain Management.  Student should have senior class standing (Fall 2024) or higher.  This is a paid, working internship with expected deliverables and goals

 

Internship #1:  Rings and Packing.  The intern will be tasked to automize tool and measurement device selection with the creation of routers and manufacturing orders in SAP. A database must be setup and linked to production router sequence accurately to ensure smooth manufacturing process. This project requires a very detail-oriented approach. The Intern will work closely with Engineering, Production and Planning.  This is a 6-month Internship

Internship #2:  Engineering Technology.  The intern will create a a digital twin for every equipment and process. This includes creating a digital descriptor/identifier to align with the item (the equipment, associated tooling, and work-holding) on floor, establish and maintain a cross-reference of SAP master data with Zoller Tool Management System (TMS) master data for tooling, create digital models of the equipment, tooling, and work-holding to model the manufacturing processes.  This is a 6 to 12 month internship

  • Excel Look up Queries and Pivot Tables
  • Working with diverse cross functional teams (engineering, production, management)

  • Self-management, time-management, reporting of results

What you should be good at

  • Students who reside/attend school in SE Florida or recent graduates of a Florida University with housing in the area. Recent graduates welcome to apply.  International students may also apply.
  • Must be available to work full time for a six-month period beginning in February; we can be somewhat flexible regarding work hours to accommodate class schedule for Spring Semester
  • Students in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or Supply Chain Management or similar degree
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes required
  • Strong attention to detail/data gathering skills
