Your Mission
HOERBIGER Benelux is an important member of the HOERBIGER Service business in Europe. We provide our customers with parts, repair and upgrade their compressors and find solutions to their technical problems. This we can only do with a strong team.
As the Workshop Compressor Mechanic you will be part of our team that is executing all works around the service of reciprocating compressors or assembly of newly built sub-components of those. You will work with colleagues of different departments (Workhshop, Field Service, Engineering, Sales, Customer Serivce) to provide excellent service our customers.
How you will make a difference
The main tasks are:
- Ensure all work meets our high standards for safety and quality
- Disassemble/assemble compressor (parts), such as cylinders, liners, bearings, conrods, cross-heads
- Inspect and measure the incoming goods, evaluate & record all findings
- Rework and machine compressor parts to specifications and within tolerances: honing, boring machining on cylinders and parts
- Support the estimation and planning of activities as input for cost calculation or workshop planning
- Ensure all documentation and labeling is correct
- Train workshop colleagues in assembly/disassembly/rework of compressor
- Execute routine machine maintenance
- Assist in other areas (Field Service intervention) when needed in case of activity peaks
What you should be good at
- Completed Secondary vocational education (MBO) level 3 or 4, preferably Mechanical Engineering or Marine Engineering
- Experience with the maintenance of Rotating Equipment and Auxiliary Equipment and reciprocating compressors in particular
- Committment to safety and quality in every task
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail with a hands-on attitude
- Ownership & service attitude: both internal and external customer-oriented
- Flexibility and ability to work at several work stations
- VCA certificate of advantage
- Good communication skills in Dutch, German and English
- Good PC skills as all work steps are documented in systems
- Act as a team player, support and onboard your colleagues
- Ability to work under pressure
- Desire to increase knowledge
