Ex Engineer (Electrical)

Your Mission

Become the driving force behind the certification and technical excellence of our product range — from first concept through to market launch. You’ll ensure our innovations meet global standards, guide Ex-certified product activities, and be a key technical voice both inside the business and with customers around the world.

How you will make a difference

  • Secure global product certification — including EMC, SIL and Ex — by working with suppliers, certification bodies and internal teams.

  • Support innovation by suggesting design improvements for new and upcoming products.

  • Resolve technical queries for UK and international customers, producing clear, professional reports.

  • Lead fault investigations and support Sales, Technical and Logistics teams with returned goods analysis.

  • Uphold Ex compliance by coordinating documentation, design updates, concessions and manufacturing processes, review and update of QMS, in line with EN 80079-34 and ISO/IEC 80079-34:2018.

What you should be good at

Bringing your knowledge of Ex hazardous areas you will be able to:

  • Managing the full certification lifecycle from concept to completion.

  • Building strong relationships with suppliers, certification bodies and customers.

  • Analysing products — including competitor devices — and producing accurate technical reports.

  • Creating, reviewing and approving technical documents, manuals and marketing materials.

  • Communicating clearly across departments while staying organised, detailed and proactive in a technical, fast-paced environment.

  • CompEx 01-04 and 05-06 would be advantagous.

What you can look forward to

  • Salary Sacrifice Pension
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Targeted Bonus
  • Life Assurance
  • Health Assurance (after probation)
  • Income Protection (after 1 year)
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Salary Sacrifice Electric Car Scheme.
  • Free onsite parking
