Your Mission
As Manufacturing Tool Attendant (1st Shift - 6:00 am - 2:00 pm) you will be responsible for managing, issuing, maintaining, and tracking production tools and equipment to support efficient manufacturing operations. This role ensures tools are available, properly maintained, and stored correctly, while maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting safety and quality standards.
How you will make a difference
- Inventory Management
- Issue, receive, and track manufacturing tools, gauges, fixtures, and equipment to production personnel
- Restock consumables and tooling supplies to meet production needs
- Maintain accurate tool inventory records using SAP and Zoller TMS
- Tool Optimization and Maintenance
- Inspect tools for wear, damage, or defects and remove unsafe tools from service
- Clean, organize, and store tools according to established procedures
- Perform modifications of inserts such as sharpening or grinding as required
- 5S Initiatives
- Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards (5S)
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to tool control and efficiency
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
What you should be good at
- Education and Experience:
- A high school diploma or GED.
- At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly with tooling for metal cutting operations involving CNC and manual turning, milling, grinding, and various other equipment.
- Language Skills:
- Read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Additionally, you should be able to present information effectively in both one-on-one and small group settings and write short correspondence clearly and effectively in English.
- Mathematical Skills:
- Understand basic arithmetic, like adding and subtracting decimals. You should be able to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division accurately. You also need to be proficient in both English and Metric units, including conversions between them.
- Computer Skills:
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Proficient use of email, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
