Your Mission

HOERBIGER Service Inc. is currently seeking a Field Service Advisor to join our team.

The Field Service Advisor is to participate in the in-field repair, modification, and upgrade of customer equipment, as required. Lead employees by providing direction, training and mentoring skills with the aid of the Field Service Manager.

Qualification Requirements

  • A strong hands-on and working knowledge of the manufacture and assembly of close tolerance reciprocating compressors, gas engines, electric drive motor alignment, foundation, and coupling.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience with rotating and reciprocating equipment.
  • Must have the ability to complete:
    • Customer Site specific safety training
    • Hazcom Training
    • SDS Training
    • Basic+ Training
  • A strong hands-on and working knowledge of machine shop practices.
  • A strong hands-on and working knowledge of field service practices.
  • The ability to work with close tolerance equipment while coordinating with all departments to keep the flow of work in proper direction.
  • Hands on experience and knowledge of turbo-machinery assembly operations.
  • Must have the ability to achieve and meet the timely and cost-effective methods of repair and assembly. 
  • Excels in documentation, damage analysis of rotating and reciprocating equipment. Define root cause of failures and the repair process to bring the equipment back to or exceed OEM requirements. 
  • Must possess a strong organized work ethic which is required to work with all involved with repair process from start to completion. 
  • Machinist experience required for resolution of equipment problems and recommended repairs. 
  • Have experience and be willing to operate standard factory equipment.
  • Ability to complete documentation and written reports.
  • Requires strong mechanical problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (English).
  • Very organized, good interpersonal skills, strong work ethic, “can do” attitude.
  • Have experience with co-ordination of multiple projects and task management. 
  • Must possess a Valid Drivers License and have an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work overtime and fluctuating shifts, both scheduled and unscheduled.
  • Travel flexibility required.

What you should be good at

  • Hands-on experience with reciprocating compressors, gas engines, and rotating equipment (6+ years preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of field service and machine shop practices
  • Skilled in equipment assembly, alignment, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
  • Able to complete required safety training and follow site-specific compliance standards
  • Strong mechanical problem-solving skills with attention to detail and documentation
  • Organized, dependable, and effective at coordinating multiple projects
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills; customer-focused approach
  • Flexibility to travel, work overtime, and adapt to changing schedules
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Technical/trade school certification or OEM training (CAT, Ariel, Cummins preferred)
  • Comfortable using basic computer programs (MS Office)
