Workshop Compressor Mechanic

Your Mission

HOERBIGER Benelux is a key part of the HOERBIGER Service network. Our purpose is simple: enabling reliable, safe and efficient compressor operations for our customers across Europe. In our workshop, you will contribute directly to solving technical challenges, restoring equipment to specification, and ensuring our customers’ plants keep running.

As a Workshop Compressor Mechanic, you will carry out high-quality service, repair, machining and assembly activities on reciprocating compressors and their subcomponents. You collaborate closely with colleagues in Shop, Field Service, Engineering and Sales — and contribute to a culture of safety, precision and continuous learning.

How you will make a difference

  • Disassemble, inspect, rework and reassemble compressor parts (cylinders, liners, bearings, conrods, crossheads) according to OEM specifications.
  • Inspect and measure incoming goods, record findings accurately and contribute to quality documentation.
  • Perform machining activities (honing, boring, basic machining operations) to restore dimensions and tolerances.
  • Support planning and cost estimation through reliable technical input.
  • Train colleagues in assembly, disassembly and rework procedures to strengthen shop capability

What you should be good at

  • Secondary vocational education (MBO 3–4), ideally Mechanical or Marine Engineering, or comparable technical experience.
  • Hands-on experience with reciprocating compressors and rotating equipment.
  • Proven compressor assembly/disassembly knowhow with tolerance-based adjustments.
  • Basic machining capabilities and ability to read drawings and measure accurately.
  • Strong technical understanding, attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
  • Communication skills, willingness to collaborate and support others.
  • Dutch, English and German language skills (or willingness to further develop).
  • PC skills for digital documentation.
  • Team spirit, adaptability, ability to work under pressure and across stations.
  • VCA certificate (or readiness to obtain it).
  •

What you can look forward to

  • A collaborative, safety-driven team culture.
  • Structured onboarding and continuous learning opportunities.
  • Opportunity to work with advanced compressor technology and global experts.
  • Varied activities: machining, assembly and occasional field support.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package.
  • Support for certifications and professional development.
