Your Mission
The Quality Engineer monitors and improves the quality of the operational processes and outputs to ensure customer satisfaction, compliance and that Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met and/or exceeded. The position also assists with implementing effective quality controls to achieve goals for strategic/long term quality planning. The position supports our high-tech manufacturing facility with over 100 CNC machines and related supporting equipment.
How you will make a difference
- Review and update current procedures and work instructions for all departments along with any special processes that would contribute to the quality of a completed part and/or assembly. Assist with writing a new procedures/work instruction as needed.
- Assist with identifying the root cause and/or corrective action implementation/ effectiveness verification (create training material for operators to eliminate the non-conforming event in the future)
- Assist with investigating and troubleshooting product or production issues. Use methodologies of problem solving (5 Ways, 8D, root cause analysis, etc.).
- Assist with developing and implementing quality systems in accordance with ISO 9001:2015
- Inspect and test materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met.
- Develop and implement quality standards of all product line(s) including valve assembly and/or failures that may occur.
- Support sales order special requests including testing measurement and documentation (CofC, lift test, MTR’s, etc.)
What you should be good at
- Bachelor’s degree in quality engineering, mechanical engineering or similar major (must have already graduated and be available for full-time work). Preference given to applicants who have completed Internships in manufacturing
- Or, in lieu of degree, 1-3 years quality experience in manufacturing working with machined parts
- Experience with ERP system helpful
- Keen attention to detail
- Analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
