Vent Manufacturing Manager

Your Mission

IEP Technologies is bringing vent manufacturing in-house as part of a strategic insourcing project, adding a new manufacturing capability to an established company. The operation will use advanced equipment, automation, and modern production methods, providing an opportunity to take ownership of a new manufacturing area from the start while benefiting from the resources and experience of an established organization.

As Vent Manufacturing Manager, you will lead the implementation and daily operation of this new manufacturing capability. You will establish the production structure, develop the team, oversee equipment and processes, and create the standards required for safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing. This is not a desk-only management position. You will maintain a strong presence on the production floor and work hands-on when needed to support training, troubleshooting, setup, and production. You will also manage priorities, capacity, quality, material flow, equipment performance, staffing, and continuous improvement. You will have the opportunity to build the operation from the ground up and establish the foundation for long-term growth.

How you will make a difference

  • Lead the Startup and Team: Own production readiness, hiring, staffing, training, work instructions, process controls, material flow, and daily management routines.
  • Direct Manufacturing Operations: Plan and oversee cutting, forming, assembly, testing, material movement, and finished-product flow to meet safety, quality, output, and delivery requirements.
  • Develop Technical Capability: Build a team that can safely operate, set up, troubleshoot, and maintain the punch/laser, automated brake, manual brake, testing equipment, and supporting processes.
  • Manage Business and Process Performance: Own the operating budget and cost center; monitor KPIs for utilization, downtime, throughput, scrap, quality, labor, cost, and schedule performance; and drive issues through resolution.
  • Work Hands-On When Needed: Support machine operation, setup, troubleshooting, assembly, testing, and inspection during startup, training, production constraints, or equipment issues.
  • Own Safety, Quality, and Scalable Growth: Establish EHS expectations, nonconformance and corrective-action processes, test records, certification compliance, preventive maintenance, production reporting, inventory controls, and continuous improvement systems.

What you should be good at

  • Manufacturing Leadership: Bring at least five years of manufacturing leadership experience, including direct responsibility for hiring, employee development, daily priorities, accountability, and production performance.
  • Education and Technical Manufacturing Knowledge: Bring a bachelor's degree in manufacturing, mechanical, industrial, or a related engineering/technical field, or equivalent practical experience, plus strong knowledge of sheet-metal fabrication, CNC machinery, automated equipment, forming, assembly, and tooling.
  • Startup and Process Development: Build practical processes, work instructions, performance controls, staffing plans, and operating routines in a new or changing environment.
  • Hands-On Problem Solving: Understand machine and process issues, work directly with operators and technical resources, and drive corrective action.
  • Production and Financial Management: Manage safety, quality, output, labor, capacity, downtime, maintenance, scheduling, material flow, KPIs, budgets, and cost-center performance as one connected operation.
  • Systems, Quality, and Compliance: Use ERP systems, production reporting, drawings, work instructions, test records, quality systems, and performance data to manage the operation and support certification compliance.

What you can look forward to

  • Build Something New: Create a manufacturing operation from the ground up rather than inherit an established process.
  • Shape the Operation: Influence equipment use, workflows, staffing, training, production standards, and workplace culture.
  • Work with Advanced Equipment: Lead an operation built around automated cutting and forming technology, with opportunities to expand automation as production grows.
  • Combine Leadership with Technical Work: Remain connected to the machines and processes while leading the operation at a management level.
  • Create a Long-Term Impact: Establish the systems, team, and standards that will support future vent manufacturing growth in the United States.

Compensation and Benefits Data

  • Competitive Pay: This is an exempt position with a starting pay range from $110,000 to $120,000 per year.  Compensation will be based upon qualifications and experience.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Enjoy a robust benefits package, including medical/dental/vision insurance, short- and long-term disability and Life insurance and retirement plan with company matching.
  • Supportive Environment: A stable, team-based culture that values collaboration and innovation.
  • Join a company committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion, fostering a culture of belonging.
  • Professional Development: Educational assistance programs and opportunities for career growth.
  • Work Location: This role is based at the IEP Technologies facility in Marlborough, MA. The role will work onsite five days per week.  Local candidates are encouraged to apply; relocation benefits are not offered for this role.
