Field Service Technician, Brisbane Branch

Your Mission

Join HOERBIGER’s field service team and deliver safe, efficient and high-quality maintenance, repair, installation and commissioning services for industrial compressors, gas engines and associated rotating equipment. You will apply and grow your technical knowledge while providing practical, professional support that helps customers improve equipment reliability and performance.

How you will make a difference

  • Carry out maintenance, repair, overhaul, installation and commissioning work on compressors, gas engines and associated equipment.
  • Support tradespeople and the wider service team across customer jobs, sites and shifts.
  • Promote safe working practices and ensure activities meet company, customer, environmental, quality and ISO requirements.
  • Diagnose equipment issues, perform fault-finding and contribute to practical problem solving in the field.
  • Maintain accurate and timely service records, technical data and reports on work completed.
  • Collaborate with Service, Sales and Engineering colleagues to deliver responsive and technically sound solutions.
  • Build trusted customer relationships through professional communication and dependable service.
  • Identify service needs and share potential customer opportunities with the appropriate internal teams.
  • Keep current with relevant products, technologies, Australian standards and industry requirements.

What you should be good at

  • A recognized trade qualification in Fitting and Machining, Mechanical Engineering Trades or an equivalent discipline.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial compressors, gas engines or associated rotating equipment, ideally within the Oil & Gas, Energy or Industrial sectors.
  • Experience with Ariel compressors and Waukesha gas engines will be highly regarded.
  • Sound fault-finding, analytical and practical problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a field service team.
  • Clear communication skills and a professional approach when working with customers and colleagues.
  • A proactive, customer-focused mindset and a strong commitment to quality and safe working practices.
  • Flexibility to travel domestically, including occasional work at remote customer facilities.

A valid Australian driving license, MUST have right to work in Australia
