Manufacturing - Application Engineer - Compressor Valves

Your Mission

HOERBIGER Corporation of America (HCA) seeks a motivated Application Engineer to join our manufacturing team in Pompano Beach, FL. HCA specializes in producing precision compressor valves and components that power industries such as Oil & Gas. Your mission will be to configure and optimize compressor valve equipment and other key components for customers while adhering to established design standards. By leveraging your technical expertise, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting our customers and driving innovation.

How you will make a difference

  • Maintain and enhance a standard valve product portfolio for OEM accounts
  • Conduct part inspections and create detailed technical reports with actionable recommendations
  • Lead projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely coordination and status updates in the Workflow system
  • Proactively resolve technical challenges by evaluating options, presenting solutions, and implementing decisions
  • Provide emergency technical support, including occasional travel to customer sites for critical troubleshooting (2-3 trips annually)

What you should be good at

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or 3-4 years of relevant experience
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a focus on evaluating trade-offs to achieve optimal outcomes
  • Strong understanding of assembly drawings, piping diagrams, and technical manuals
  • Basic knowledge of ASTM/ASME specifications, pipe flange design, and steel metallurgy
  • Proficiency in CAD modeling (Autodesk Inventor preferred) and database querying (SQL, Excel VLOOKUP)
