Join HOERBIGER Service Inc. as a Planner/Scheduler on our Service Center team in Port Allen, LA.
This position works as a liaison between our Customers, the Sales team, Supply Chain, and Shop Operations. The Planner/Scheduler is responsible for scheduling shop activities, creating and managing service orders, coordinating material availability, and ensuring on-time delivery of customer commitments.
How you will make a difference
- Develop, maintain, and communicate the daily and weekly shop schedule based on customer delivery requirements, material availability, and shop capacity.
- Process and manage Service Orders in the ERP system, including support for quotations, BOM creation, repair specification review, routing setup, and customer order entry.
- Monitor and proactively follow up on open Service Orders, Sales Orders, and Purchase Orders daily.
- Coordinate with internal customers to develop accurate job plans, identify parts, prepare task lists, and support capacity planning.
- Schedule and prioritize shop work based on part delivery dates, shop capacity, labor availability, customer needs, and operational constraints to ensure on-time delivery.
- Actively update and maintain master data and service order accuracy in the ERP.
- Support invoice processing. Accurately perform inventory duties as necessary.
- Monitor, track, and report performance metrics.
What you should be good at
- Minimum of one year of experience in planning/scheduling, order management, operations execution, or supply chain coordination within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of one year experience working in an ERP system (SAP preferred). Good knowledge of SAP modules (mainly MM, SD), including integration points and material requirements planning.
- Strong understanding of service order processing, planning, scheduling, and supply chain processes.
- Ability to execute in a highly integrated ERP environment with transparency and accuracy.
- Strong technical background with willingness to learn products and services, including the application of reciprocating compressor components.
- Ability to interpret BOMs, drawings, equipment structures, repair specifications, and task lists.
- High-level Microsoft Excel skills; ability to extract, manipulate, and evaluate data to support planning decisions.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to evaluate commodity pricing trends and market conditions.
- High school or equivalent required.
