Your Mission
As a Data Engineer, you will develop and optimize a modern, scalable, and fully automated on-premise data platform.
The role focuses on enabling seamless data workflows—from ingestion and ETL to advanced analytics and machine learning—while empowering data teams with reliable, self-service capabilities. We are developing an advanced, scalable, and fully automated on-premise data platform, purpose-built to efficiently manage complex data workflows—from data ingestion and ETL to physics-based computations and machine learning predictions. Leveraging Dagster for orchestration, our platform seamlessly connects with diverse data sources, edge devices, and storage solutions. A foundational element of our architecture is self-service: we empower data scientists, analysts, and engineers with comprehensive control over their data assets, enabling teams to independently adapt and enhance data pipelines with minimal barriers.
How you will make a difference
- Backbone of the Data Platform:
The Data Engineer will be instrumental in building and maintaining the core infrastructure that supports all data-driven activities—from basic reporting to physics-based simulations and advanced machine learning models. Without this foundation, data initiatives cannot scale or operate efficiently.
-
Enabling Self-Service & Team Autonomy:
By designing a self-service architecture, this role empowers data scientists, analysts, and engineers to independently manage, modify, and deploy data pipelines. This reduces bottlenecks, enhances productivity, and speeds up experimentation and innovation across teams. -
Driving Operational Excellence
Operating within an on-premise infrastructure, the engineer will optimize performance, reliability, and scalability to ensure the platform continues to perform under strict latency, storage, and resource constraints—factors that cloud-native systems can often overlook.
-
Automating and Streamlining Workflows
By implementing CI/CD pipelines and leveraging tools like Dagster and Kubernetes, this role will automate critical workflows, reduce manual interventions, and ensure faster, safer deployments—ultimately increasing system robustness and delivery speed.
-
Ensuring Data Trust, Governance, and Compliance
By embedding metadata management, lineage tracking, and security policies, this role upholds trust and integrity in the platform, enabling safer collaboration and better compliance with data governance requirements.
What you should be good at
- Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines using Dagster for orchestration
- Build and manage ETL pipelines with python and SQL
- Optimize performance and reliability of the platform within on-premise infrastructure constraints
- Develop solutions for processing and aggregating data on edge devices, including data filtering, compression, and secure transmission
- Maintain metadata, data lineage, ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with governance and security policies
- Implement CI/CD workflows of the platform on a local Kubernetes cluster
- Architect the platform with a self-service mindset, including clear abstractions, reusable components, and documentation
- Define and maintain clear contracts/interfaces with source systems, ensuring resilience to upstream change.
Required Technical Qualification and Experience:
- 5-7 years of experience in database-driven projects or related fields.
- 1-2 years of experience with data platforms, orchestration, and big data management.
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role, with focus on backend data processing and infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with Dagster or similar data orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Prefect, Luigi, Databricks)
- Proficiency with SQL and Python. Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT best practices, and batch/stream processing.
What you can look forward to
- Opportunity to build a modern data platform from the ground up
- Work with cutting-edge open-source technologies in a collaborative, tech-forward team
- A dynamic, evolving work environment that offers significant growth opportunities.
- Competitive salary and benefits package
- An inclusive culture that values innovation, integrity, and continuous professional development.
