DEUBLIN - CNC Set Up Programmer - 1st Shift

Your Mission

The CNC Setup-Programmer performs duties to program, setup, and operate CNC lathes, multi-axis lathes, and vertical machining centers. Requires knowledge of machining techniques and methods such as boring, milling, drilling, facing, threading, tapping, and measuring to produce close tolerance parts of varied materials. CNC Set Up Programmer is a non-exempt position with a pay range from $32.19 to $43.55 per hour. Pay will be based on qualifications and experience.

How you will make a difference

  • Read technical drawings and set up the machines in accordance with blueprints.
  • Perform quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications.
  • Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality.
  • Consider tools required to cut materials and program machines accordingly.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems with machines as they arise.
  • Produce parts within specification. Obtain first piece approval from Quality Control Department.
  • Measure parts with appropriate precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Maintain the run by loading and unloading parts and raw material; checking coolant levels; replacing chip bins; etc.
  • Notify Team Lead of any discrepancies, or problems with equipment, material, tooling, or operating procedures.
  • Completely debur, pack, and move completed parts.
  • Use floor terminals to report work as performed in real time.
  • Train new employees in how to properly operate CNC machines and programs.
  • Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition.

What you should be good at

  • High School Diploma/GED preferred
  • 5 years related experience preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting is required.
  • Familiarity and skill with interpreting technical drawings and blueprints, including GD&T.
  • The ability to work independently and closely follow directions is essential.
  • Capable of standing for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence.
  • Ability to convert between metric and imperial units.
