Your Mission

Are you skilled at P&ID’s and PFD’s?  Is project management your superpower? Do you have design experience in mechanical piping and pipe support for steam and condensate systems?  Enjoy travel/field work?  Then we are looking for you! 

 

As a Process Engineer you will provide engineering design support for all stages of capital projects, and then execute and manage to achieve project goals.

How you will make a difference

  1. Execute and manage steam and condensate projects to achieve the technical, operational and financial goals of the project.
  2. Conduct field surveys of existing piping systems for P&ID and PFD creation, piping design and proposal creation.
  3. Collaborate to establish and document equipment and piping specifications and sizing requirements to meet the technical and operational requirements of the project.
  4. Interact with customers to establish project scoping and development of project requirements, participate in project meetings, conduct operator training.
  5. Prepare proposals, datasheets, and written specifications.
  6. Ensure that the piping installations adhere to the P&IDs.  Participate in on-site start-up and post-start-up of system.

 

What you should be good at

  1. Minimum five years experience in mechanical process steam piping design.  Experience with paper machines, paper drying and paper machine drying equipment preferred.
  2. Completely fluent using AutoCAD for creating and editing P&ID’s and PFD’s. Fluency using AutoCad Plant 3D is preferred.
  3. Knowledge of piping, valve, pump, transmitter, insulation and other specifications used in paper mill steam systems.
  4. A full and thorough understanding of P&ID’s and PFD. Knowledge of pipe support basics (supporting, guiding and anchoring).
  5. Experience with large bore steam piping design.
  6. Capable of navigating physically challenging field conditions, including heat, stairs, ladders.
  7. Highly organized and systematic in approach to field work and subsequent CAD work to successfully manage projects spanning long time periods.
  8. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical literature.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.
