Your Mission
Hoerbiger Rotary Solutions/Deublin Company is the leading manufacturer of Rotating Unions and Electrical Slip Rings - devices that allow the transfer of pressurized fluid or electricity from a stationary source into rotating machinery.
We are adding a Product Manager to the team to lead and direct growth through effective product lifecycle and portfolio strategies. The Product Manager is expected to maintain a thorough and current knowledge of the paper industry – including customer needs and industry trends, and competitors’ technical and commercial offerings. As appropriate, gains alignment/approval from other internal stakeholders. This position supports the sales team and works as directed on selected strategic projects.
How you will make a difference
- Strategic Marketing: Lead product development projects and validate market expectations and customer acceptance. Collaborate with Marketing to build the brand, enhance product positioning, and develop market insights for future growth. Analyze market ecosystems to identify opportunities aligned with customer needs, technological trends, and geographic factors.
- Product Line Management: Assess competitive threats through quantifiable comparisons of products and competitors' products. Manage product portfolios through each product’s life cycle to maximize profitability and market share. Recommend changes to existing and future product lines. Manage Product Life Cycle by exiting low volume and/or low profit products. Manage Pricing and Margin.
- Sales Support: Applications know how to determine what product is suited for what Application. Identify OEMs/End Users and geography that offer higher potential profits. Coordinate inventory levels with Production. Facilitate inventory turnover and product availability to meet demand, review and adjust stock levels. Support the preparation of technical and promotional literature, materials, campaigns, and programs. Create technical articles and case studies to support and promote products or services within the assigned markets. Guide exhibition activities in assigned markets. Develop and implement appropriate training programs for inside and outside Sales personnel, distributors, and other channel partners.
- Strategic Project Support: Co-Lead Product Development Project Teams. Participate in development of Product Launch material, Paper and Corrugating long-range plan and Product “eco-system”.
What you should be good at
- Education – Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or comparable discipline is required; MBA is preferred.
- Experience – 3+ years in product/application engineering required. Direct experience working in the paper industry is preferred.
- Leadership – Strong leadership, project management skills and results oriented. Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills with the ability to define problems, collect and interpret complex technical business data, weigh alternatives, and make valid decisions.
- Communication - Excellent communication skills, with the ability to outline and write effective technical and promotional materials for both customers and colleagues. Effective presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex or technical information to customers, sales channels, and top management. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
- Project Management – Lead the work of a Team to achieve all the project goals within the given constraints and meet success at a specified time. Global Culture – Deublin is a global company. Awareness and sensitivity to local cultures, norms, and traditions is expected. Long-term strategies and short-term actions may be different depending on region. International travel may be necessary to fully understand these differences.
- Technical Acumen – Engineering, mechanical or electrical background preferred. Ability to understand how components integrate into larger systems is expected. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex technical literature
